Just for fun

Annie Mack Makers

During a maker bootcamp, I fell in love with all things laser cutting and started to design and sell laser cut and hand finished earrings, necklaces, and rings. You can still catch me dabbling from time to time!

With a design partner and my passion for textiles, we embarked on a mission to create a few fashion lines. Equal parts design, screenprinting and apparel construction; we created and sold T’s, tunics, dresses and accessories at small markets around the city.

Constellation Dress

Taking a wearables course at OCAD allowed me to explore creating e-textiles for fun. One project was what I call the “constellation dress” which used a sensor that would detect when it was dark out and light up the big dipper on the dress using LED lights. This not only required sewing skills and basic electronics but also was an introduction to the Arduino sketch language (code).

See it in action!

For the love of music…

I created an abstract painting that allowed a viewer to touch it in order to trigger multiple short pieces of music. I recorded sounds using a bass guitar, violin and bow. I used BareConductive’s touchboard kit and conductive paint to store the audio files and create the touch enabled painting

Getting my hands dirty in illustrator, I conceptualized and developed artwork for Polyester Heart’s newest album “Cadence” (to be released in 2020)

Using the violin, piano and glockenspiel, I tried my hand at recording and developing tracks with both Ableton Lite and Garageband.
